Arbor Day

Nationally Arbor Day is the last Friday in April. Each state can select an more appropriate day for tree planting to coordinate with their climate. Colorado has selected the third Friday in April.
Fourth graders get to experience Arbor Day. Classroom activities allow students to discover how many different every day products have some part of a tree in them. Some schools actually plant a tree.
Literacy Project

Each year Colorado Agriculture in the Classroom / Foundation for Agriculture have a book prepared for primary students. The book always features some aspect of Colorado agriculture. Some Board members enjoy reading to the students.

River Trailer

What a great way to learn how the river erodes the soil. Students can make different configurations, use rock on the banks, and vary the speed of the river.
